Like the famous racehorse, Barbareau, Ragtime takes her name from a beloved
foxhound. Sitting on a ridge in the heart of hunt country, Ragtime provides beautiful
views from every room. Our front entrance opens to a myriad of surprises, from cathedral ceilings in the
large sunroom to vaulted ceilings in the bedrooms, each of which comes equipped with sliding doors
opening onto an old-style Kentucky porch, equipped with rocking chairs and
spectacular sunset views.
Master Suite
As you slip into this suite, your feeling of being transported begins. Floor
to ceiling windows engulf you in the natural beauty of the Kentucky
countryside. The soft movement of the shade tree just outside the window
whispers an invitation to step through the sliding glass doors onto the wide
veranda lined with rocking chairs, perfect for that first cup of coffee on
the cool, quiet mornings.
A fireplace of natural stone harvested from the grounds warms you in the
cooler months. The light-filled luxurious, roomy bath with huge shower has
spectacular views of the orchard and gardens. The views, the hand-painted
sinks, chandeliers, pottery, and eclectic art make this suite a visual treat
while enveloping you in comfort.

A double bed faces the glass sliding door, a private entrance to your
morning appointment with coffee in a rocking chair on the veranda.

tub and more views of the gardens and orchard.

Dining and Relaxation Areas
Past the kitchen with antique fittings, a vast living room with fireplace, a stunning
dining room with floor to ceiling windows and cozy wainscoted den, you’ll find the
jewel of the house at the north end: an Olympian sun room with a 360-degree view
of the valleys. The floor to ceiling prairie-style windows allow a full embrace of
natural light, while the décor mixes antiques, stained glass and art from around the
globe. Guests may wish to gather in the sunroom to sip coffee while watching the
sunrise over the misty valleys below.
A patio with fire pit and grill off the formal dining room allows guests to relax late in
the evening overseeing a spectacular view of hillside and meadow. With 160 acres
of fields, woods, and multiple creeks and ponds, there is also plenty to be seen on
lovely nature walks around the property. Walking trails are mowed for your hiking
or rambling pleasure.
